Research Network

Research Networks are graphs that allow visualizing the study areas of researchers at the University of Siena based on information contained in scientific publications. The graphs consist of nodes, representing keywords present in publications, and links, representing the co-occurrences of keywords within the same publication. These graphs aim to highlight existing or potential interactions between different research topics, thus promoting the exchange of information and multidisciplinarity.

The information contained in the graphs can be used by researchers, institutions, companies, and citizens to become aware of the expertise present at the University of Siena and their possible applications.

We are extending the algorithm to update the graphs in real-time whenever a new research is published. Furthermore, we are considering the use of more sophisticated algorithms to better highlight all the expertise present at USiena
