Citizenry and territory

Sharing is (and) knowing

Knowledge confined within the walls of the university does not contribute to any collective well-being. On the contrary, when shared with the citizenry, knowledge becomes alive and generates transformation, dynamism, and growth. This process, starting from the academic community, instills a sense of responsibility towards oneself and society, leading to conscious and lasting changes.

For these reasons, the University of Siena is committed to the design, organization, and support of cultural events, such as the network of University Museums and the Night of Research (Bright-Night). It also promotes actions for public health, peace, sustainability, and to involve communitiy of penitentiary centers in projects of the University.
